Aala Ha Vasant Pheriwala — Petals and Poems

This VCD brings out the best in flora and Marathi 'kavita' or poetry. Brought out as tribute to the poet Vasant Bapat, the VCD brings to you a combination of the delicacy of flowers captured by the lens of Dr. Prakash Joglekar and inspired by the verses of eminent poets of India. Every bloom has a poem, every petal tells its own story.


The VCD contains more than 250 photographs of various species of flowers and over 100 poems from distinguished Marathi poets like Vasant Bapat, Indira Sant, Kusumaraj, Shanta Shelke, Mangesh Padgaonkar as well as Marathi translations of poems of Rabindranath Tagore, Kalidas and Sant Kabir. Many of these poems are recited by the poets themselves and the VCD contains original voice tracks of late Shri Vasant Bapat, Mangesh Padgaonkar and Dr. Sangita Barve.
		Each flower is part of a theme and each bloom is identified by its botanical, common as well as its local name. With haunting verses like 'amhi janarach ki kavatari patdishi' as well as metaphoric poetry like 'chandrakala nesli hotis' and 'shantanucha maj moh hava', the VCD brings to life memories of the magical compositions of yesteryears. This hour-long VCD guarantees nostalgia, entertainment, enlightenment as well as appreciation for flowers as well as for those verses that bring out the essence of the flowers.
