'Ganare Aakash' or 'Singing Skies', is a documentary on 'Birds' - the rulers of the skies. This VCD is a brain-child of Dr. Prakash Joglekar. The documentary is an assemblage of enthralling pictures, thought-provoking poetry and original sound tracks and also reverberates the sound of a multitude of winged creatures.
The VCD brings to you 110 photographs of birds, captured in all their vibrant hues by the lenses of renowned photographers and animated with poems by distinguished Marathi poets.
This VCD identifies each bird by its common, scientific and local name. Many of the verses are from well-known poems like 'Bal uthare angani', 'Tya tejacha pran chimukala', 'Mazya maherchya vate' and 'Chochit kovala kiran gheun'.
What makes this VCD so unique? This VCD is an attempt to make people aware of what birds mean to us, their role in nature and how their existence makes a difference in our lives. After all, the beauty of seeing a Peacock dancing gracefully is an experience to be lived and cherished.
We have a social responsibility towards preserving nature. This responsibility has been ably depicted in this 45-minute documentary, using the simplicity of nature combined with the beauty of Marathi and Sanskrit literature.
